El Tantawy was founded in Cairo in 1968 in a small workshop with three artisans, a single lathe, and a stubborn belief that furniture should disappear into the rhythm of the room it serves.

Half a century later the atelier still works that way — each piece is hand-finished by one of eight artisans, signed, and shipped with a lifetime promise of care.
